Weeks after the tremendous result on May 9th, the fiercest critic of former Prime Minister Najib Razak joined us on the Breakfast Grille. Needless to say, Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz didn’t hold back. When former Morning Run presenter Sharaad Kuttan asked if Tun Abdul Razak’s legacy had been tarnished by Najib, Malaysia’s Iron Lady stingingly replied: “I wouldn’t say he tarnished his father’s good reputation at all. His legacy is separate ... it’s not fair [to bring] the name of Razak in the same breath as Najib.”

Evening Edition: The Road To Radicalisation

In this Evening Edition special, journalists Ezra Zaid and Zan Azlee are asking the unspoken question: are Malaysians getting radicalised, and if they are, why? Live and Learn: Defending Najib

Before it was known that former Prime Minister Dato Sri Najib Razak would be charged for his involvement in the 1MDB scandal, considerable attention was being paid to his legal team. Who were these lawyers, and what were their motivations for accepting a high profile client? The Breakfast Grille: Justo - I Believe I Did The Right Thing

Amid the ongoing investigation into 1MDB, its whistleblower and former PetroSaudi International executive, Xavier Justo, spoke on the Breakfast Grille about the struggles he faced in consequence of his whistleblowing. What he revealed had painted a carefully constructed conspiracy organized by Petrosaudi in order to keep damaging information away from public eye. His infamous written confession, he revealed, was merely a gateway to a shortened sentence in a Thai prison he described as “illegal, inhumane, immoral and “something you’d see 200-300 years ago”.

The Breakfast Grille: Malaysia's Path to Parity - Lim Guan Eng

In this hour-long Breakfast Grille special, Finance Minister YB Lim Guan Eng answered questions from the public about the Budget 2019, oil revenues and the truth about the nation’s financial position. When Morning Run presenter Khoo Hsu Chuang asked about the 1MDB scandal, the Finance Minister replied in visible frustration: “the damage done to the country is tremendous … How would you feel if you had to pay [RM50 billion] for the 1MDB scandal? I don’t think we are elected to be indifferent and calm to these scandals, I think we’re elected by the people to put things right; to show that we care about our country and our children’s future”
