So long, fare thee well, Fay Khoo

On Saturday, BFM89.9 lost one of our own. Fay Khoo, writer, publisher, raconteur, chef, sister, daughter, and dear friend, succumbed after a short battle with cancer. She was just 48-years-old.

For all of us here at the station, Fayâ€™s passing is an immeasurable loss. Her infectious personality, boundless energy, and fabulous intellect inspired a real and raw kinship in everyone she encountered.

As an advocate for food and cooking, she was the real deal. A true believer. She was someone who dedicated her life to preaching the joy of food and how it brought us together.

She strived to teach others about eating well and living well and her lessons on food tell us everything we need to know about how she felt about life: â€œDonâ€™t waste what life has given you.â€

As a journalist, she wasnâ€™t just engaging, she was engaged. Her interviews were always on point. Her conversations were always enlightening. Her commentary was always insightful.

As a friend, she constantly challenged us to be bold and creative and to embrace life.

We will miss her. And we will honour her life in the only way we know how, by celebrating her work and her many invaluable contributions.

Rest well, our friend, what a courageous battle you fought. So long, fare thee wellâ€¦ Fay Khoo.
