Tonight on TTON, we have a man who used to have a show at BFM himself. He’s an actor, emcee, model, comic, all around entertainer and the alter-ego of Shelah, Edwin Sumun!
Edwin’s been in the acting game for three decades now. Starting off strong with demanding roles like the Scottish King, Macbeth at the tender age of 22 whilst he was in Germany.
In 1996, he returned to Malaysia for a year long sabbatical from his work in Germany. However, work got the best of him and he became a member for The Instant Cafe Theatre upon his introduction to Jo Kukathas.
The local press labeled him as ‘the next big thing of theatre’ when he went on to work with Five Arts Centre and The Actors Studio. In 2004, he established his own company, Sumunda. Just over a year old, Sumunda won several awards at the 2005 Cameronian Arts Awards for it’s maiden production, Five Letters from an Eastern Empire.
For the record, Edwin scored 15!
