I Love KL: We Built This City

With independence from the British, a new nation suddenly emerged, how should the national spirit be expressed in the built environment? We examine the architecture of Independence and the search for a distinctly Malaysian expression. Renowned architect Dato Haji Hajeedar and the executive director of Badan Warisan, Elizabeth Cardosa take stock of how far we have come and note that in the face of rapid economic development we seem to be losing our sense of place and heritage.
