Nature and the environment has almost always been an after-thought for KL-lites, and understandably as well; the emergence of technology and urban development at a rapid pace in our concrete jungle, has made it just that - a concrete jungle. But hidden in a corner of Bangsar is where the Free Tree Society meets - a sanctuary for urban gardeners to master their craft and hone their skills for a good cause. And then, with the ever increasing prices of real estate in Malaysia, one man couldn’t contain it any longer and decided to take matters into his own hands – by building his very own house with shipping containers. We explore the trend of mini homes as he shares with his journey in building his dream home named “Rumah Kontena”.
