The name Chow Kwai Lam needs no introduction among football fans. Kwai Lam donned the national colours from 1965 to 1971 and even coached the national Under-23 football team in preparation for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. He also coached Kuala Lumpur during its glory days and and enjoyed stints in Singapore between 2002 and 2005. Kwai Lam, who has seen the highs and lows of football, passed away on July 16 following kidney failure. He was 76. We celebrate the life of our sporting legend with his proteges Reduan Abdullah and Tang Siew Seng - both part of that dominant KL team in 80s and 90s.
