Most of us are aware of the recent COVID-19 outbreaks in prisons and detention centres, such as those in Sabah and Kedah which has led to a spike in cases in those states. In light of that, we revisit the issue of overcrowding in prisons, how that can lead to COVID-19 outbreaks, and what pre-emptive actions can be taken to prevent this from happening in other prisons and detention centres.
