Making New Tyres from Recycled Tyres

According to a 2010 report by the European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturer’s Association, 1.4 billion tyres are sold worldwide each year and there are an estimated 1 billion tyres lying in dumps around the world. With close to 70% of the world’s rubber demand coming from tyre manufacturers, an ill-managed tyre disposal management can have wide-ranging environmental implications.
