As children, especially Malaysian children, we seemed to pick up new languages as easily as a sponge absorbs water, but the older we get the more complex it is. Visiting lecturer and linguist, Professor Dr. Teo Saw Choo explains why this is the case and also says it all boils down to attitude, aptitude and cognitive ability.
