Several European leaders, including David Cameron and Nicholas Sarkozy have stated that multiculturalism has failed. Mr. Cameron has blamed the "state of multiculturalism" for encouraging cultures to live separate lives, and that instead of encouraging cultures to live separate live apart; we need a clear sense of national identity that is open to everyone. Can we live separately and share common national values. To examine this issue from an academic and local perspective is Dr Asma Abdullah.
