Eleven years ago, Melvin Tong was just another ordinary 17 years old student preparing for his high school SPM examinations, but a niggling pain in his right knee turned out to be fibrosarcoma, a soft tissue cancer that necessitated a limb amputation immediately. Melvin relates his experience sitting for the SPM a few months after the operation, coming to terms with losing his leg and the heights he has scaled since then.
