For the last 19 years, the haze occurrence in Indonesia has caused wide ranging health issues and chaos for both Indonesia and their immediate neighbours. Sawit Watch is a coalition of NGOs and oil palm workers in Indonesia who, together with a documentary crew, documented the Ground Zero impact of massive forest burning, and how it has caused hundreds and thousands of Indonesians to lose their loved ones. Joining us to discuss the documentary and the bigger picture of unsustainable consumption of palm oil, consumerism and the destruction of land and human lives is Maryo Saputra Sanuddin from Sawit Watch.
