Since September 2016, Temiar villagers have been setting up blockades near Gua Musang to halt logging activities that have been taking place for decades on their ancestral homeland. On this World Press Freedom Day, Jules Rahman Ong speaks about his effort to document the plight of the Temiar community, how he got arrested by state Forestry Department officials while filming, and the deforestation in Kelantan, which witnessed some of the worst floods in recent memory. The documentary is called “Fighting for My Home.”
