Housebreaking or house-training is the process of training a domesticated animal that lives in a house or other residence to eliminate outdoors, or in a designated indoor area, rather than inside the house. Housebreaking is usually done when the animal is very young, and can be progressively more difficult to teach as the dog gets older.
Rubini Maruthian, certified dog trainer, talks to Meera Sivasothy about the dos and don'ts of house-breaking a dog, especially an untrained older or adopted dog.
