Earlier this week, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Mujahid Yusof Rawa, announced that a plan to introduce a dress code for Muslim women in the workplace, specifically for those working in the private sector, was in it's final stages. According to the Minister, the policy is an attempt to address the discrimination faced by Muslim women in certain sectors and private companies. We speak to Tan Heang Lee, the Communications Officer for the Women's Aid Organisation, to find out why this plan is problematic, and discuss better ways we can tackle the issue.
