Climate change does not affect everyone in the same way. According to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), women commonly face higher risks and greater burdens from the impacts of climate change in situations of poverty, and the majority of the world’s poor are women. We just observed World Environment Day this week, and joining us to discuss how the impacts of gender inequalities leave women more exposed to the adverse effects of the changing climate is Sivananthi Thanenthiran, the Executive Director of The Asian-Pacific Resource and Research Centre for Women (ARROW).
