Wade C.L. Williams is a multiple award-winning journalist, who received death threats for writing on topics like discrimination against homosexuals and female genital mutilation in her home country of Liberia, and she also faced threats for reporting on corruption in Liberia’s government. Wade was also on the front lines in Monrovia as an investigative journalist during the Ebola outbreak in West Africa in 2014, and her rigorous, first person account of what happened before, during and after the Ebola outbreak, brought the story to the global stage. She joins us to share her stories of covering these difficult topics, while also fighting for equality in the newsroom.
