Many Malaysians do not engage legal services because they can’t afford the cost of hiring lawyers. A new project called “The Collective of Applied Law & Legal Realism,” intends to rectify this with the DIY law model. Many in the Bar Council have already voiced their skepticism. Lawyer Edmund Bon addresses some the concerns raised, as well as whether this would contravene the Legal Professions Act 1976.
