There are over 100,000 refugees registered with UNHCR in Malaysia, but for a community that remains largely invisible to the public, there are no dearth of non-governmental organizations trying to assist this community. The question is whether these organizations can sustain their impact on the long term basis. We speak to Azra Banu and Tajar Djebara, chairperson and executive committee respectively of Carefugees, a NGO set up in 2013 to provide care and support to each refugee and their family through sustainable solutions and long-lasting change.
