Anti-Intellectualism in Malaysia

Philosophers, dreamers and thinkers have changed the world around them by questioning thesocial systems and structures upon which it is built. Rationalists and sceptics such as Rousseau, haverevolutionised world thought with doctrines of democracy, nationalism, liberty and equality. Whatis the role of the intellectual in Malaysia, and what do they have working against them? To answerthese questions, we called upon one of the most outspoken members of academia, Dr. Azmi Shahrom from University of Malaya.
