Dr Dog is an animal-assisted therapy programme pioneered in Hong Kong by the Animals Asia Foundation in 1991. This initiative was introduced by the late Sabrina Yeap in 2007 and is designed to improve the social, emotional and cognitive functions of patients. Programme coordinator Salehin Ibrahim, who has helmed the programme since 2013, shares how a banker got involved with Dr Dog and explains what it takes for man’s best friend to be capable of providing therapy.
