Three decades ago, Raun Kaufman was diagnosed with severe autism, with an IQ of under 30 - his parents were told to institutionalise him. Instead, they chose to put together a program that wasn’t part of conventional wisdom at the time, and now he’s fully recovered from autism. What does that recovery mean, and how does the Son-Rise program assist others with their recovery? We find out from Raun as well as obtain perspectives from Marissa Ali and Reshma Yousuf, parents whose children have been diagnosed with autism.
