Birth used to be something for the home, for the family, something intimate and natural. With modern steps forward however, it's now the norm for birth to take place in hospitals, often with medical intervention, with family waiting outside. Why has this shift in the birth climate happened, and what about women who want gentle births, births that are on their own terms and within their comfort zones?
Joanna Cheryan and Nadine Ghows, both of The Gentle Birthing Group Malaysia tell us about why they felt the need for their group in our country and how women can reclaim control of the birth process.
