The report card for Malaysian children’s physical activity levels is out, and the results are near failure. According to the Malaysia 2022 Physical Activity Report Card for Children and Adolescents, children aged 5 to 17 scored a D- in terms of their physical activity and health. This is one score that parents, teachers, the community and the government have to take responsibility for, as children’s physical activity depends on their home, school and community environment. Associate Professor Dr Mohd Razif Shahril, Chairman of Active Healthy Kids Malaysia, and Mastura Yusop, Head of Physical Education at Sri KDU Primary School, join us to discuss what we can do to get children off the screen, and out into the sun.
