"Nitya Sumangali - the Eternal Wife" is a period dance drama which depicts the devadasi tradition of Southern India.
Writer, choreographer and set designer for the performance, Lex Lakshman Balakrishnan, together with dancer Siti Farrah, tell us more about this ancient tradition, and why they've adopted the story into this dance performance, which centres on the forbidden love of a young devadasi named Kalyani.
