While visiting KL in April, Nigel Richards takes some time out from his schedule of teaching and performing to talk with us about the performer’s road and the performer on the road. He describes this life as one imposed upon him, like a calling. “If you can do something else, do something else.” Being an actor-singer-performer is something he, like some, cannot escape. The hours of hard training; the days of auditioning and rejections; the delight of employment; and the preparation before going on-stage. Then to be on-stage and being present--to be in the “now” with the audience, giving. Oh! What joy and pleasure.
