We are living in the most explosive era of infrastructure expansion in human history, which often has serious direct and indirect environmental impacts. The authors of the paper, “Reducing the Global Environmental Impacts of Rapid Infrastructure Expansion,” highlight nine issues that should be considered by project proponents to better evaluate and limit the environmental risks of such developments.
