The latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report: Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability, was released on the 28th of February, and assessed the impacts of climate change, looking at ecosystems, biodiversity, and human communities at global and regional levels. The report has been described as a dire warning about the consequences of inaction, and also as “an atlas of human suffering, and a damning indictment of failed climate leadership." We dissect key messages and findings from the report, and also discuss some of the contentious issues that resulted from negotiations for the final Summary for Policymakers, with Meenakshi Raman, the President of Sahabat Alam Malaysia (SAM) and the Head of Programmes at the Third World Network (TWN).
