Clouds On The Horizon For Solar Sector?

The U.S. Commerce Department has imposed preliminary duties on solar imports from Southeast Asia, alleging illegal subsidies in nations such as Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia. While aimed at supporting American manufacturers, this decision could increase costs for solar projects and slow the country’s renewable energy transition. Davis Chong, President of Malaysian Photovoltaic Industry Association (MPIA) shares his insights on the implications of these developments for local solar players.
