The Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) is an operational unit of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation. It assists foreign companies wishing to establish their business in the Netherlands and to take advantage of the Dutch business environment as a strategic base to cover Europe.
Karin Rancuret, the Area Director for Southeast Asia for NFIA, discusses the report card on investment pledges into the Netherlands, and which are the target sectors in Malaysia. She touches on some of the challenges that Malaysian businesses face when considering to invest in the Netherlands, e.g. the cultural differences, understanding labour regulations, EU tax structure, etc.
Rancuret gives us a preview on the key attractions, as well as the country's comparative advantage to other EU nations. She also talks about the impact of the Eurozone crisis on FDI flow into the Netherlands, and the country's relationship with other EU countries.
