ECS ICT Berhad is a Main Market-listed distributor of ICT products, comprising notebooks, desktop computers, printers, software, servers, and enterprise software. Its vendors include leading principals like HP, IBM, Cisco, Microsoft, Apple, Oracle, Dell, Epson, Samsung, Buffalo, Adobe, Juniper, Blue Coat, VMWare and Google.
The group has three business operations: (1) ICT Products Distribution, (2) Enterprise Systems and (3) ICT Services. For the nine-month period ended 30th September 2012, ECS ICT Bhd posted revenue of RM942.6 million, compared to RM908.9 million previously.
Foo Sen Chin, managing director of ECS ICT Bhd makes his comeback on the Breakfast Grille to give us an update on what's changed since the company listed almost 3 years ago.
We ask him about shifting trends from PCs to notebooks to tablets, as well as ECS's new smartphone distribution channel and its recent tie-up with Huawei – China’s biggest smartphone maker – to distribute Huawei’s smartphones and devices.
Finally, Foo talks about how ECS is looking at expansion into cloud and mobility.
