Daya Materials Bhd's group CEO Datuk Mazlin Junid comes on the Breakfast Grille to talk about the group's prospects and how it intends to stand shoulder to shoulder with the bigger players in the group. He talks about:
- Daya Materials four year plan to reach RM1 billion in revenue by 2015, but addresses the fact that revenue for FY2012 actually came in lower year-on-year although margins improved.
- However, he remains positive that the group will see about 20% growth for the coming year.
- Daya Materials was also one of the companies bidding for the risk services contract for Petronas for Tembikai and Chenang, which was pulled due to logistical issues. However, he does not rule out it coming back on the table and Petronas has announced another 10 RSC contracts potentially in the pipeline.
- He also talks about the group's polymer segment, which is losing money and he says is in a "sunset industry". He does not rule hiving it off or letting it die a natural death.
- He also addresses the group's business in Indonesia and talks about potential business from Sri Lanka, among others.
