On Monday, it was reported that Izat Bukhary will be contesting at the Kuala Kangsar by-elections as an independent candidate, because he doesn’t trust women leaders. Unsurprisingly, his comments have gone viral, with netizens showing a healthy level of disdain for his point of view. But why is it that certain segments of society still openly practice gender discrimination? Are women, indeed, bad leaders, or are we merely a sexist society?
