A topic that never gets tired because it always makes the news of late is crime. While many Malaysians reading the papers are trying to make sense of the recent crime madness, there are some who have taken a vigilante-type approach. Policing community programmes have been adopted by certain neighbourhoods, standing up to be the eyes and ears of the police and to protect themselves and their families. But some argue that this isn’t our responsibility in the first place, that the police should be upping their game.
Today on Talkback Tuesday, we’re asking: Does it bother you that civil society has to get involved with policing our own neighbourhoods or do you feel, that to a degree, it's our duty?
