Bookmark: Translating Raja Ali Haji's "Tuhfat al Nafis" from Jawi to English

Most will remember reading about "Tuhfat al-Nafis" (The Precious Gift) in our history textbooks, but Raja Ali Haji's work of Malay literature has also been translated into English from Jawi, by Professor Virginia Hooker (Professor Emeritus and Visiting Fellow in the Dept of Political & Social Change, College of Asia and the Pacific, at The Australian National University) for the Institut Terjemahan & Buku Malaysia.
