Poet, novelist, filmmaker and editor Michael Ondaatje is known for his work that blends or counterposes the factual and the imaginary, poetry and prose.

It is this trait - the juxtaposition of opposite images and the exploration of seemingly incongruent ideas - that links almost all of his works.
