The Tor community has given tech savvy people around the world a way to keep their IP address private, which in turn enable them to be anonymous where necessary to protect their personal information from governments, criminals and commercial interests like Google. Cloak is an effort to extend the facility to ordinary people with a custom-made easy to use router. We speak to Lard Thomsen, one of the creators of Cloak, on why do we need such a thing.
