Perak was once the wealthiest state during the colonial era. The tin boom during the industrialisation collapsed in the 80s which forced the government to diversify into manufacturing. While Perak’s economy is still recovering from the downfall of tin mines, the state is now looking to rebrand its identity to boost its economy by leveraging on its history and environmental assets. CEO of Institut Darul Ridzuan, Mazalan Kamis shares the plan of reviving the state.
