William Poundstone, author of the book Rock Breaks Scissors: A Practical Guide to Outguessing and Outwitting Almost Anybody,  proposes the simple idea that when people make arbitrary, random or strategic choices, they fall into unconscious patterns that you can predict. In other words, people are predictable even when they are trying not to be. So the book explores many scenarios that exemplify the predictability of people and how we can take advantage of that in our lives.
