In conjunction with International Women's Day, we brought in Marilyn Chua, former Olympic participant, national swimmer and now franchisee of Curves. Marilyn being a former Olympic swimmer, who is very particular about health & fitness decided to venture out and focus on women in Malaysia as she felt that the women in Malaysia are very poorly educated and seem to be less concerned about their own health and fitness, and lack the opportunity to do so. The first Curves was opened in 1992 in Harlingen, Texas. Their innovative, 30-minute fitness concept combined strength training and sustained cardiovascular activity through safe and effective hydraulic resistance. The club was an overnight success, as it gave women a supportive and comfortable atmosphere in which to work out. Marilyn shares with us her passion and commitment to women’s health and fitness.
