Hijab is no longer regarded as a ‘black piece of cloth’ for Muslim women across the world. Muslim women across different nationalities and cultures have discovered a new way of wearing their head scarves, through a kaleidoscope of colours, fabrics, shapes and styles. In keeping with the latest trend, Islamic fashion shows for women has now become more prevalent, in order to target the modern ones. Young people have also taken to easy-to-find hijab tutorials online. But have Muslim women forgotten the essence of hijab? Is it now simply a fashion statement? We spoke to Mikkel Bjodstrup, the co-founder of Hijab2Go on the things they've done and how they've managed to hit 27k likes on Facebook in a span of 5 months.
