"Merdeka Special" with Mydin

In collaboration with Merdeka day, we invited Datuk Wira (Dr.) Haji Ameer Ali Mydin to join us in celebrating 56 years of independence. Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd is one of the largest and well-established Malaysian-owned Companies involved in wholesaling and retailing. The company was founded in 1940 and was based in Subang Jaya at that time. The company was then incorporated in 1957. Mydin currently operates 198 outlets nationwide inclusive of 12 hypermarkets, 18 emporiums, 3 bazaars, 55 mini markets (MyMydin), 10 convenience stores (MyMart), 5 franchised outlets (Mydin Mart) and 98 'Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia'. We spoke to the Managing Director, Datuk Wira (Dr.) Haji Ameer Ali Mydin about how the company started its first operation in Kelantan back then.
