VirtualU began as a student startup in 2012 at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg. Caroline Pugh and two other co-founders dropped out from university and had the ambition to revolutionise the fashion world with 3D shopping where they provide scanners to retailers that allow consumers to scan their bodies and try on clothes in digital storefronts. Tapping on that 3D scanning idea, they shifted from retail to health industry and built VFit. It is the first scanner with millimeter precision, producing highly realistic 3D scans in under 10 seconds that can spit out your body details such as weight, height, lean muscle mass, circumference of your thighs, calves, neck, etc.
