Going Global: Venta Del Olivo (Murcia, Spain)

The combination of many factors that make Spain and specifically the Region of Murcia, an ideal enclave for the production of table grapes; stone fruit and lemons. Venta Del Olivo is a fruit business that was established in 1988. The company is engaged in the production and marketing of peaches, apricots, nectarines, plums, grapes and Paraguay, with an average of twelve million kilos of twenty varieties of stone fruit. Seven out of ten fruits produced in the region are exported. We spoke to Dolores Marin Sanchez about taking over her father’s business in the mid-nineties and the hardships in sustaining it.
