Two years ago, in response to the increasing number of residential units repurposed as business premises, the Selangor government offered 633 eligible house owners in Petaling Jaya the chance to convert their land status. Last month, The Star reported that only 14 took up the offer and paid the land conversion fee. Many thought the state government’s offer was unfair. This issue was recently discussed at a symposium organised by the Petaling Jaya City Council. Bukit Gasing State Assemblyman Rajiv Rishyakaran is here to give us the latest update.
