Homelessness is an issue that every city in the world grapples with, and it made headlines in Malaysia when the authorities in Kuala Lumpur tried to forcibly impose a two-mile radius ban on soup kitchens around the city centre.
A group of young individuals wanted to make a difference, so they went about providing food and job counselling to homeless individuals in this city of nine million during their free time.
Called the the Street Feeders of KL, we speak to the committee members of the group, Tan Lee Suan, Anantha Raj Rajakumar and Gary Liew, who explain their motivation for helping the homeless and why this issue is close to their hearts.
Also joining them to share her story is Aunty Mumtaj, a member of the homeless community in Kuala Lumpur.
