U.S. President Donald Trump concluded his 12-day, five-nation visit to Asia recently. Besides North Korea, his articulation of an “Indo-Pacific dream” - which includes India, Japan, and Australia - was a surprise. Does this signal a move away from ASEAN or a larger strategy to contain Beijing’s influence in the region?
