The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are rippling through the lives of many migrant workers in Malaysia – and those of their families. Migrant workers are financially and socially vulnerable, with little to no safety nets to support them. The infection has also targeted migrant communities, who are at higher risk due to their living conditions and access to healthcare. Azrul Mohd Khalib, CEO, Galen Centre for Health and Social Policy, joins us on this month’s episode of Public Health to speak to Dr Tharani Loganathan from the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, University of Malaya, about why the health of migrant workers should matter to everyone.
