The terms ‘Mak Cik Kiah’, ‘duduk diam diam di rumah’ or ‘just stay at home’ have been rather popular among Malaysians during the MCO period after they were mentioned by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in his speeches. We discuss what makes political speeches resonate with the public, especially in times of crisis.
