Warner Music has just announced a new partnership with financial giant BlackRock to co-invest in a new $750 million dollar fund that will focus on acquiring stakes in music copyrights. This sees the continuation of a trend where legacy artists have been cashing out their entire music catalog during the pandemic. We find out why younger acts have also been following suit with many seeking to cash out early rather than enjoy the slow trickle of royalties.
